SSE Cares is an initiative to help provide funding and support for members in need. Originally inspired by an immediate need to help Stavia who's son was hospitalized in critical condition it was an answer to many members questions of how they can help. This iniative allow us to setup a donation module on the web site that allowed members to donate any amount they felt comfortable with from $1 or more to help. The donations are sent directly to the beneficiary through their PayPal account in it's entirety. Aside from any processing fees that might be imposed by PayPal the entire portion of your donation goes to the beneficiary.
Moving forward it is our plan to activate this system for guild members who are in exceptional need or facing catestrophic circumstances so that we might be able to help out however we possibly can. The officers are working to formalize the process of activating the initiative again should the need arise and someone need help in the future. When we have a formal policy we will publish it for everyone to read over and provide comments.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
Ty is awake and doing well. He's been spending time with the teacher. His kidneys are starting up and he hasn't needed to be on dialysis at all this week. Stavia is hoping he'll move out of ICU as early as today.
Condition Update: Ty's Tuesday surgery went well. Intestines were rejoined, they did keep him open to check infection on Thursday again. He did get a blood transfusion. Seems to be moving in the right direction at this point.
Condition Update: Ty's surgery went well yesterday. The infection is clearing up. They were able to drain deeper than before. No additional damage was found. They do the same on Tues and Thurs, hopefully closing him up on Thursday.
Condition Update: Ty was in surgery again today. They had to take another 6 inches of intestines due to infect. They left the incision open and he'll be back in surgery Sunday to check on the infection. Still sedated as well.
Update Continued: His body cavity was full of infection and they're draining him for the next few days. They're keeping him sedated during the process and he'll be moving back into ICU. Doctors don't know what caused this.
Condition Update: Had some serious setbacks the last few days. They had to operate on what they thought was an intestinal blockage. Turns out he had over 20 perforations in his small intestine and they had to remove a foot of small intestine.
Updates Continued: His Kidneys are still not working and he's having a reaction to something causing hives which are pretty itchy. Stavia also mention some possible issues with his liver and low blood count that might require a transfusion.
Condition Update: They're starting Ty on clear liquids today to see how he does. He'll be doing 2 hours of dialysis today. He'll be working with a teacher to start sharpening his mind again as well. All good news today!
Stavia was able to get everything setup with Paypal and is now able to finalize the donations we've been sending. So you should see this reflected in the goal numbers now. Thank you to everyone for your support!
Condition Update: We've had a bit of bad news today. Apparently Ty is having some digestive issues keeping any food down. X-Rays suggest he might have an intestinal blockage which might require surgery to resolve.
